Crave-worthy cottage cheese cookie dough rolled into bites for easy grab-and-go-snacks! Made with almond and oat flour and sweetened with maple syrup, the flavor is totally reminiscent of healthy cookie dough and the texture is SO satisfying. My kids gobble these up!
Welp, it looks like my high protein waffles with cottage cheese met my cookie dough protein bars and they really hit it off!
Delectable little bites of glory, that's what these are. Star-studded with chocolate chips and oozing with supreme cookie dough flavor vibes, they really check all the boxes for a healthy snack (that you'll actually look forward to munching on).
My toddler has at least two for breakfast every day and we all trust his taste buds, ok?
Ingredients
- Cottage cheese: low fat and full fat both work. Good Culture is my favorite brand. It taste incredible, has loads of probiotics, and is packed with high quality ingredients sans fillers and gums. (Pssst have you tried my cookie dough overnight oats with cottage cheese?! OMG.)
- Oat flour: Just like in my 10-minute high-protein no bake chocolate chip cookies, oat flour is tried and true for whole grain goodness, cookie flavor notes, and to help bind them. I blend up rolled oats to make flour most of the time.
- Almond flour: You know I love the amazing cake-like texture and natural sweetness almond flour adds. No other flour will work as a sub here!
- Pure maple syrup: The perfect natural sweetener for these bites.
- Vanilla extract:
- Salt: I've made these without salt and liked them, but I liked them even more with a pink of salt! Bonus pounts if you sprinkle flaky salt on top, yes hunni.
- Chocolate chips: Semi-sweet are my fave here. Use a heavy hand.
Let's make 'em!
Whisk the dry like you mean it.
Place cottage cheese, maple syrup, and vanilla extract in a blender.
Blend her up!
Add to dry ingredients.
Add chocolate chips and behold, cookie dough!
Roll into bites and devour.
Storage
You'll want to store these in the fridge versus on the counter since they have cottage cheese. They'll be good for up to 1 week or more!
You can freeze these, too. Just thaw overnight in the fridge.
I hope you're as obsessed with this fun cookie dough recipe as I am!

Description
Crave-worthy cottage cheese cookie dough rolled into bites for easy grab-and-go-snacks! Made with almond and oat flour and sweetened with maple syrup, the flavor is totally reminiscent of healthy cookie dough and the texture is SO satisfying. My kids gobble these up!
Ingredients
- ¾ cup cottage cheese (2% or 4% both work)
- ¼ cup pure maple syrup
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 ¼ cups super fine blanched almond flour
- 1 cup oat flour
- ⅛ tsp fine sea salt (or ¼ tsp for more salt)
- ⅓ cup chocolate chips (i like a combo of mini and regular)
Instructions
- Place cottage cheese, maple syrup, and vanilla extract in a blender (I use my Nutribullet). Blend until smooth.
- Pour mixture into a medium mixing bowl. Add almond flour, oat flour, and salt. Mix until combined then stir into chocolate chips.
- Roll into 16-18 smaller bites (or make them bigger, up to you!). They're a little bit more moist/sticky than your classic energy bite, but should easily roll. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week.

Love these! Super easy to make and really taste like cookie dough! I did not have oat flour so just took some quick cooking oats and blended them in the blender. A great recipe. I am going to try freezing them.

My toddler definitely doesn't eat cottage cheese on its own, but loooves these for breakfast and snacks! Great balanced bites for any age. Will make again for meal prep.

Hi! I'm interested in making these. Wondering if you have subbed the maple syrup with brown sugar or coconut sugar. I'm not a fan of the maple syrup taste in "cookies" and I also prefer the grainy texture of granulated sugar. It reminds me more of a true cookie dough. TIA!
Alexis Joseph, MS, RD says
Hey Sara! I haven't tried these with sugar but I actually did have that thought the other day. I'm not positive how it'll impact the texture, I think they'd be too dry. I will try it and report back!
