Wow, we've made it over halfway through the first month of a brand new year! My sweetie man Max just turned 4 years old...how? It feels like yesterday that he made me a mama.

It's been so heartbreaking to watch the devastation of the LA wildfires continue. I often wonder, how can I talk about parenting and brownies when people are losing everything? It's so strange and uncomfortable to go about normal life while tragedy unfolds out of our control.
I always struggle to navigate the online space during crises, and there's been no shortage of them the past year. I'm sending so much love to everyone suffering from this tragedy and doing what I can offline. I will continue to post food for the soul in hopes that it's uplifting someone, somewhere. <3
Lovely meals lately
These protein bars with peanut butter and oats are on repeat in the hummus household. The texture can't be beat!
I'm living a two part breakfast life currently. Part one is with the kids around 7:30am. I loved this overnight oats combo with rolled oats, unsweetened soy milk, hemp/chia/flax seeds, almond butter, raw honey, and vanilla. Top with cacao nibs, berries and salted pb!
I usually crave savory later on so around 10:30am I'll have something easy like Good Culture cottage cheese with Mary's Gone Crackers everything super seed flavor (found at Costco!) hummus, or a bar from the freezer.
The other day I wanted eggs so I scrambled some with avocado, lemon juice, and leftover air fried broccoli. It was a delish combo!
Can we have a moment for this adorable PBJ made with a heart sandwich cutter? My kids love them! Chia smash strawberry jam + salty pb = yum.
Throw together leftovers lunch--air fried tofu (EVOO, salt, pepper, garlic powder), eggplant (EVOO, salt, and za'atar), roasted sweet potatoes, and jasmine rice. Hot honey hummus makes everything better!
I had a friend over for lunch and made a delish salad inspired by this arugula persimmon salad. I tried pan frying feta because the store didn't have halloumi and it was actually amazing.
I did arugula, persimmon (new fruit to try, yay!), store-bought steamed beets, pecans, roasted chickpeas, cucumber, and TJ's grilled olives (such an under-rated salad ingredient) with a simple lemon dijon dressing.
Gorgeous new lemony sheet pan chicken with cauli, potatoes, and tahini yogurt sauce! Let me know in the comments if you've tried this one yet.
Flourless blueberry almond butter recipes, one of the exclusive recipes from my meal planning guide, PREPPED. My kids have been loving these for breakfast.
Simple, satisfying snack that always hits the spot: sharp cheddar, Honeycrisp apple, and walnuts.
My friend Jamie's fish taco bowls with cilantro lime rice were beyond delish! I love making new recipes from other people and we do all the time. It's easy to get stuck making the same things, and this keeps mealtime exciting.
I used 2 lb of thawed from frozen wild cod (whenever we eat cod we find we need more to feel full, LOL). Didn't do the beans. Loved the cabbage, so flavorful!
I'm fully obsessed with my new chocolate chunk almond flour muffins! A MUST MAKE.
Another successful new recipe we tried is this ginger and peanut butter ground turkey stir fry. We loved it! I really appreciate when a recipe calls for 2 lb of turkey because I know it'll feed us for two nights. I don't cook every night 😉
You probably know by now I don't cook on Friday night and we always get pizza. Lately we've been taking the boys and trying to places. Kaos pizza is in an old charming house and the pies are super tasty.
Things I'm Loving Lately
- My dear friend Simi created some lovely Unmeasured workout merch and from now until Februrary 14th, all proceeds will go directly to the LA Food Bank. I ordered the white tank!
- Working with clients 1:1 again has been truly so life-giving for me. I love having a direct impact on women and a more dedicated relationship with those who want to learn how to nourish their family, master structure in cooking healthy meals, eliminate mealtime stress, and tackle picky eating. If you want to learn more, don't hesitate to email me at [email protected] and we can chat!
- Direct fundraising for GoFundMe's of those who lost their homes in the LA fires with less than 20% of their goal reached. If you're unable to monetarily give, you could donate clothes!
- I've been wearing this silk bonnet to bed on days when I've done my hair and it really keeps the style in place! It's life changing and wild not having to redo my hair in the morning. It's like I didn't sleep on it!
- The earbuds we own are on sale for $13.96! If you're like me and tend to lose them (and therefore don't want to buy pricey ones(, these are great.
- Max uses this freezable lunch bag so I just bought Charlie one for school! Lowest price in 30 days 🙂
- This little waffle maker has been such a hit with the kids! I love freezing the leftovers.
Sending you all a big hug!

How old is your youngest? My little guy is 8 months. Do you have any posts about introducing solids to your kiddos? I can't wait for my little guy to eat pizza one day. 🙂

He is 18 months! I don't but I recommend starting with this BLW podcast. It's short and really informative. Then get the Solid Starts app--a free super helpful database that outlines how and when to serve all foods. MJ Hungryman is my favorite website for baby recipes. Yummy Toddler Food is another great one. Have fun and don't stress too much!
I also help with this in my 1:1 work 🙂

Thanks for acknowledging what a weird time this is to be going about our daily lives. I live in LA and have been largely unaffected by the fires, which is wild given how close I am. I really appreciated your link to match donations with those who need them. It's been really challenging to find organizations still accepting clothing and shoes, but I have some really great stuff I'd love to see go to a family needing them! Thanks for all you do :).

Wow, this is wild. I hope that's helpful! I filled out the form but haven't heard back :/
