Hi, everyone. How are you doing? These are times that none of us ever anticipated experiencing.
I want to begin by saying how much I appreciate your support and your messages always, but especially over the past few days after Jeff and I decided to cancel our 3/28 wedding.
It felt like an extremely tough decision at the time, but looking back just two days later with how much has changed, we have no doubt that it was the right choice. The health of our family, friends, and community is far more important than anything else right now.
The decision to postpone our wedding was nothing compared to what we've had to deal with at Alchemy. So many people's livelihood depends on this work and restaurants all around the country are closing their doors.
I admire and appreciate Governor DeWine's foresight in closing restaurants and bars. Last night I had to lay off most of my restaurant staff.
It was one of the most difficult things I've ever had to do.
We are all being tested in ways we never have before.
My heart goes out to those suffering from the virus, to the health care workers putting their lives on the line everyday, to the kids who rely on their school lunches to eat, to single parents who can no longer work, to the immunocompromised, to service industry workers who now have no income.
Let's all be the absolute best humans we can right now. Let's continue to uplift each other, practice social distancing, drink water, eat healthy, breathe, reach out to our elderly neighbors, donate food, stay home if possible, and be there for each other during these unprecedented times.
We're all in this together. This too shall pass. And I know we'll come out stronger.

I'm so sorry this has not only affected your business, which you clearly have worked and continue to work so hard for...but also your wedding. So much respect goes out to you and Jeff for putting family, friends and community well being before yourselves. You will come out stronger as will Alchemy on the other side of this. Stay well

Are you going to re-hire them when things get better? Just wondering if you had to frame it as a temporary or permanent change to them.
Alexis Joseph says
The future is very unknown but yes of course, as soon as we're allowed to conduct business as usual, we will bring everyone back on. We just wish we knew better when that will be.
Cynthia says
So sorry you are having to deal with all this personal and professional stuff. Good luck xx
