Also known as my daily smoothie, this creamy Chocolate Blueberry Smoothie with frozen blueberries, avocado, dates, and cacao is the smoothie I always come back to. It tastes like a dreamy chocolate milkshake and is actually satisfying thanks to all the healthy fats. This banana-free blend packs 8g plant protein and 10g fiber. Make it in the blender in 5 minutes and say hello, breakfast!

- 1 cup unsweetened vanilla almond milk
- 1 heaping cup frozen blueberries
- 1/4 ripe avocado
- 1 large pitted Medjool date
- 1 tbsp cacao powder
- 1 tbsp hemp seeds
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 2 ice cubes (optional for thickness)
- optional: 1 scoop chocolate protein powder, handful of spinach
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a high speed blender or Nutribullet. Blend until completely smooth and creamy.
- Pour into a glass and top with cacao nibs for crunch. Devour!
Notes
Soak dates in a bowl of hot water for 5 minutes to soften up if they're hard.
For an even creamier smoothie, you can use half an avocado. You can also use frozen avocado and omit the ice.
