    What I Ate Wednesday

    Published Mar 16, 2016 · Modified Nov 8, 2021 · by Alexis Joseph · 20 Comments

Hey lovelies! Who's eating all the yumtastical thangs?

    breakfast

I'm recovering from being sick this past weekend, so I haven't been my normal hunger beast self. It's kind of weird.

Breakfast was my usual Blueberry Cacao Smoothie with Vega and spirulina (no dates) all prepped and ready to go thanks to my beloved freezer smoothie packs. I didn't have time to eat it in a bowl with toppings, so I slurped it out of a lovely Alchemy cup.

P.S. If you're in the market for a new planner, I adore this one!

    coffee

I sipped on coffee with soy milk while I picked up our bulk nut butters from Krema. Obviously I sampled my favorite salt and pepper cashews and rosemary almonds. To die for is an understatement.

    lunch

Lunch was leftovers of a variation of this Copycat Northstar Buddha Bowl (hello, three year old recipe) with chickpeas, broccoli, carrots, and an easy peasy peanut sauce all drizzled with copious amounts of this new Fix hot sauce that I'm obsessing over. I'll be sharing the recipe next week! I also had a Kombucha because we know how much I love it lately.

On the side I had celery and peppers with Oasis roasted garlic hummus and a sliced organic Fuji apple. I always tell my clients to chop their veggies ahead of time for grab-and-go appeal and low and behold, it actually works! I try to practice what I preach, my friends. Smoothie bags and pre-chopped veggies for the win!

    snack

For snack, I had a couple No-bake Carrot Cake Protein Bars that I pulled from the freezer in the morning when I packed my lunch.

    sala

I ate dinner at Harvest PIzzeria with my gal pal Lauren. It's a two minute walk from my apartment, which is super dreamy! One of the main reasons I love living in German Village is being in such close proximity to so many eateries I adore, like Harvest, Stauf's Coffee, and Alchemy.

    pizza

Since we both have an uncanny ability to turn almost everything into a veggie fest, our identical order was no surprise. We always get the house chop salad with no cheese and extra kale along with the veggie pizza with no cheese and extra veggies. It's been a while since I've had cheese on pizza and I swear I don't miss it one bit. I like pizza just as much as the next person, so I know a cheese-less pizza sounds all kinds of crazy. BUT, but... as long as the crust and sauce are on point, I promise it's still amazing! I have been known for asking for extra sauce on the side.

    Guilty.

That pizza looks DELISH. Love your tip about chopping veggies for use throughout the week - I've really noticed an uptick in my raw veggie intake when I do this over the weekend. It's just so easy to reach in the fridge for a big container of raw, chopped/sliced veggies for dipping in hummus, hot sauce, etc. Great post!

I have actually been trying to figure out how to eat at an Italian place that I really just want the pizza but keeping it dairy free and was so nervous to order it with No cheese, but so glad to know that people do love it! Because I know my stomach sure doesn't love the cheese!

I love crispy thin-crust pizza loaded with veggies. I am not really a cheese fan, so I don't think I would miss it on my pizza. I have also been all over the Kombucha lately. I think it is the spring weather that has me reaching for it quite regularly!

Agreed! The crust and the toppings (minus) the cheese are key 🙂
