    What I Ate Wednesday

    Published Jan 8, 2020 · Modified Mar 3, 2022 · by Alexis Joseph · 8 Comments

FRIENDS! I feel like it's been years.

Over the holidays, Jeff's aunts and mom threw me such a wonderful bridal shower in Youngstown. I'm so grateful for them!

I took a little break from What I Ate Wednesday over the holidays since it ended up landing on Christmas and I sure hope you were all too busy eating cookies in plaid PJs to read a blog post.

In hummus land, we're knee deep in wedding and honeymoon planning! We get married here in Columbus the last weekend in March and then fly to Vietnam and Thailand for two weeks. It'll be the first time I'm fully disconnecting from the restaurant and blog in a long time! Crazypants.

In other news, Alchemy Meal Prep (our new prepared meal business) is set to launch in the next couple months and we're SO excited. Lots of fun things to look forward to! I hope everything is magical in your worlds. Onto the eats!

    Breakfast

Back to basics because I can't get over the fresh raspberry + raw almond butter combo. Overnight steel cut oatmeal for the win!

    Lunch

Sushi! We've been ordering from a place we just discovered in Short North called The 1126 and we really like it. We ordered the Alaskan roll, Triple Three roll, and Galaxy roll. Takeout is just the best sometimes.

    Snack

Chocolate Almond Oatmeal Bars!! Because who doesn't need a mid-day chocolate pick-me-up?

Also munched on some Hippeas...that giant Costco bag is life.

    Dinner

I'm so in love with my cozy Vegan Lasagna Soup lately. We blended cashews with water, lemon juice, and salt for some tangy cream on top. Served with garlic bread and salad, of course!

Chocolate covered pretzels for dessert, duh.

    Style Inspo

In other news, we got this salt and pepper grinder for a shower gift and they're just stunning. They're a lot bigger than I expected and they look beautiful in the kitchen. I always keep course kosher salt in a bowl on the counter so we're loving this new salt cellar.

I've never had a spoon rest (how??) so this marble one is also a life changing kitchen addition.

Other obsessions include this gorgeous large ruffled serving bowl and serving platter. Also adore our new coffee grinder and the best ever electric water kettle for under $35 that I literally use daily!

I fully plan on wearing these fabulous rose gold bow sandals when I'm dancing my butt of at my wedding.

What are you reading lately?! I just finished Then She Was Gone (finished it in two days, loved) and am now reading Maybe You Should Talk to Someone.

    Have a great week, pals!

Can I hop on the book-talk-train for a sec? If you haven't already, I highly HIGHLY recommend Lilac Girls (even better if you can listen to the audiobook-- so well done). I just finished it. It was life-changing...like literally life changing.

I'm currently reading Maybe You Should Talk Someone, too! So good--can't stop bringing it up in conversations. The last book that had that effect on me was Michael Lewis's The Undoing Project.

Question about your salt cellar - do you find that the lid gets in your way when cooking? I'm looking to replace mine & love yours but my current one doesn't have a lid. Thanks!

Ohhh I'll look that book up for sure. I don't find the lid gets in the way--I actually wanted one with a lid so there wasn't debris/bugs getting into it, LOL!
