I took an entire week off of the blog and all social media and WOWZA, was it fabulous. There is nothing my brain needed more than some quality time with the people I love and the bliss of not knowing what everyone else on the internet was doing, thinking, and eating. I delete all social media on my phone from time to time and I find it so invigorating!
In honor of 2018 coming to a close, I thought it would be fun to explore the most-viewed and loved Hummusapien recipes of the year. It was a pretty crazy year for me with the opening of Alchemy Grandview and I’m excited to see what’s in store for life in 2019!
Thank you so much to all of you splendid souls for reading my posts, making my recipes, and especially for leaving comments and star-ratings. You mean the world to me!
Roxanne says, “My sister found this recipe when I was visiting her. We made it up and it was so delicious! My 5-year-old nephew is a very picky eater and he loved it. It was also very economical. It fed three adults and a child for two nights with a nice baguette. I liked it so much I made it again as soon as I got home.”
Christin says, “Alexis…. this banana bread is AMAZING!! Noah (my five year-old) and I made it this afternoon and he ate two pieces! Even my husband commented that it was the best banana bread we’ve ever made. Thanks for the recipe!! XOXO”
Molly says, “Haven’t been disappointed with ANY recipe on here so far. These brownies are AMAZING and literally had everything in my house. I used instant coffee granules instead of the expresso powder just because it was all I had. Will def be making these again!”
Mina says, “I finally tried this. All I can say is O.M.G. I’ve been cooking regular oats on the stove top every morning, M-F. I don’t like regular overnight oats and steel cut take too long to cook before work and I don’t like the way they turn out in the instant pot. This is a total game changer!”
Brittany says, “Just made this for my fussy-ish bf and it was a hit. I used 1 minced clove garlic sautéed with the onion since I didn’t have any garlic powder on hand and added a shake of a Trader Joe’s spice blend to the mix. Baked it all and it came out so frickin’ good, I’ll be making this regularly forever and ever.”
Linda says, “I cooked this for my hubby and he loved it!!! Thank you so much!!!”
Heather says, “SO, SO SO GOOD! Made these for a get together over the weekend and had someone request the recipe. The salt on top was the perfect finish. Will be making them again very soon!”
This is the cashew cream cheese we make for our turmeric bagels at Alchemy. SO tangy and delish!
Allison says, “My very picky husband just asked me to make this bread again! It was a hit with our family. I use maple syrup instead of sugar.”
Samantha says, “I made this and it turned out great!! I couldn’t believe how easily the cashews blended together and it made it so creamy– YUM. The lemon was the perfect touch. I added a lot more dill than the recipe called for and also put a little cayenne in for some heat. Thank you for this delicious and creatively healthy recipe! Will definitely make again!”
One of my favorites that didn’t make the list? The Best Shakshuka! We make it every other week for weekend brunch.
Now tell me—what was YOUR favorite recipe of 2018? See you next year!
