OMG… hellooo, lovely faces! I can’t believe this is happening. I’m really writing a blog post! I know you are used to the fab Alexis writing all of the awesome blog posts, but today I’m going to take over.
My name’s Jeremy King and here’s my face in case you fancy seeing that. (I never look this cool, trust me. I just did it for the gram). I’m the current assistant for THE Miss Hummusapien herself, and I love every part of it. I’m 20 years old, I live in Columbus, and I have an Associates of Applied Science in Nutrition & Dietetics from Columbus State Community College. I’m in the process of transferring and applying to The Ohio State University’s Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition program.
Sometimes I feel like I’m Alexis but reincarnated. Though I’ve been a fan of Hummusapien for around a year, we actually met through Instagram a few months ago after I messaged her about her This Is My Story post, explaining how similar our paths are. When I read that post, I felt as if it were future me who wrote it.
Aren’t we cute?
I love food (mostly if its free…living the college life) and I love bringing food and media platforms (like Instagram, magazines, and Facebook) together. It’s been a hot minute since the last Grocery Store Finds post, so let’s move onto some noms.
This juice is made with blended watermelon flesh and watermelon rind (say what?). It tastes very watermelony which I’m a huge fan of. Super cool and refreshing for those rising temperatures!
This is me personally, but I love fermented foods. You can’t go wrong with some kraut in your life, especially when it’s local. This is actually the one they use at Alchemy!
I know you may be thinking this is such a crazy concept (salmon as a jerky?!), but trust me on this—they are very tasty.
This dairy-free creamer is made with pea protein, an ingredient you’ll find in a lot of vegan products right now. Don’t worry, it does not taste like liquid peas. This is perf for my morning (and late nights depending on schoolwork) coffee.
These are perfect for those summer grill days coming up if you’re not a meat fan. Just like the creamer above, the main component of Beyond Meat sausage is pea protein isolate. I foresee pea protein taking over soy protein as a vegan meat alternative.
Another one of my favorite juice drinks to cool down. Plus, it’s full of probiotics. Happy belly.
Until next time, folks!
