    I love hummus a TON (shocking) and I may love bread even more. So the potential of creamy hummus on toasty bread is nothing short of MAJESTICAL.

    Avocado toast is so 2018. There's a new spread in the building, my frands! Hummus toast for prez.

    Did you know we even have a hummus toast at Alchemy? I kid you not. It's topped with homemade garlic hummus, tomato, olive oil, za'atar, and micro greens. We know what's up.

    How do you make hummus toast?

    The good news is that making hummus toast at home couldn't be easier. Don't feel like making your own hummus? Me neither.

    ALDI to the rescue with their DELISH line of hummus flavors galore. Jalapeño Lime, Beet, Rosemary Sea Salt...even Brownie Batter Dessert Hummus! The OPTIONS. I can't!

    To make hummus toast, first toast up your favorite bread. While it's toasting, get excited about the magic that's about to ensue.

    Then spread your favorite hummus on the bread in a nice, thick layer. Hummus is the star, so don't be stingy!

    Lastly, go crazy with the toppings. Think about some kind of fruit or veggie component like tomato or arugula, spices like chili powder or cumin, something salty and or acidic like lime juice to brighten it up, and something for crunch like nuts or seeds.

    There is no time like the present to layer on the flavor and texture!

    Which bread should I use?

    I'm so glad you asked. I used ALDI Specially Selected Sourdough for this hummus toast because I am a HUGE sourdough fan and I'm convinced that it makes the most note-worthy toast in all the land.

    Secret: I freeze all my bread to prolong the shelf life. Did you know refrigerating bread actually makes it go stale? No fun.

    How should I top hummus toast?

    Top it liberally and with LOVE! Think flavor and texture. Below are my favorite sweet and savory ways to make the ultimate hummus toast feast.

    Strawberry Brownie Batter Dessert Hummus Toast

    Avocado Beet Hummus Toast

    Tomato Salsa Jalapeño Lime Hummus Toast

    Smoked Salmon Rosemary Sea Salt Hummus Toast

    Strawberry Brownie Batter Hummus Toast

    • Spread Park Street Deli Brownie Batter Dessert Hummus on toasted bread.
    • Mix together ¼ teaspoon each of Specially Selected 100% Pure Maple Syrup and Specially Selected Balsamic Vinegar.
    • Top toast with fresh sliced strawberries, drizzle with maple balsamic mixture, and sprinkle with Southern Grove Chopped Walnuts.

    • Chop a few Gourmet Medley Cherry Tomatoes. Mix with a squeeze of lime juice, pinch of salt, and a tablespoon each of chopped onion and cilantro. Top toast with mixture.

    • Top with Specially Selected Smoked Salmon, thinly sliced onion, Specially Selected Kalamata Olives, and chopped green onion.

    • 1 slice of bread, toasted (I like Specially Selected Sourdough Loaf)
    • Hummus of choice: Beet, Jalapeño Lime, Rosemary Sea Salt, or Brownie Batter (I like Park Street Deli), only available at ALDI)
    • Toppings of choice (see post for details)

    Instructions

    1. Toast bread.
    2. Spread with hummus and top with desired toppings.
