For those of you chickpeas that know me, you know that your girl's smoothie time is ALL the time. No really, like every morning at 8am...ish.
#Cantstopwontstop.
So what's all the rage? Pulverized food concoctions you can sip through tumblers are so in right now and they are most definitely here to stay. Not only are smoothies absolutely delish, but the good ones can be amazingly nutrish. The right smoothie with the right ingredients can keep you fueled and hydrated through the entire morn' and give your bod all the nutrients, fiber, and plant-powered protein it needs.
Benefits are seemingly endless because of the endless ingredients you can include in these creamy dranks. Green smoothies are also a splendid way to sneak in tons of extra veggies in slurpable situations where you may have not been able to! There's nothing quite like on-the-go nutrition.
Now lettuce chat about my personal favorite formula! I usually stick to unsweetened vanilla almond milk or coconut water as my liquid of choice. Then I add around a cup of frozen fruit (typically wild blueberries and dark sweet cherries), a cup of frozen organic spinach (much cheaper than fresh and adds volume), plant-protein to hold me over (either Healthy Skoop B-Strong chocolate or Vega Vanilla Protein + Greens) a tablespoon of hemp seeds for healthy fats, fiber, and protein, cacao for antioxidants and flavor, and spirulina for even more nutrients and phytochemicals. If you haven't checked out my Freezer Smoothie Packs post, be sure to give it a good read!
Disclaimer: As I'm typing this I am currently sucking down a smoothie (it's The Breakfast Smoothie, do it), and you should be too! Now check out this amazing list of summer smoothie recipes and get blending! In the words of my friend Kendrick...pour up, drank.

I really love smoothies in hot summer days and my love for those more when I go across your website. I usually make Kale and banana smoothie for my whole family. I use almond because I like the flavor. I freeze a peeled banana and big handful of kale in plastic zipper bags, then pull one out each morning! Thanks for sharing! I will try more smoothies in this summer. π
