Helllooo, lovely faces! It's Jeremy back with another awe-inspiring blog post...because I know you missed me.
As I grow older I have come to really appreciate grocery store time. To me, grocery store time is synonymous with getting away from daily stressors. As I pace down the aisles taking my sweet sweet time, I forget the fast approaching meteor shower of school assignments.
Ahhhhhhh, the euphoria of my 30-minute grocery store stroll.
I want to shine some light on one of my favorite grocery stores, ALDI. This is not a sponsored post. I just really love ALDI. (But ALDI, if you're reading this and want to slip exactly $330.23 into my bank account, lemme know.)
Saving money really goes a long way because #CollegeBrokeIsNoJoke. At ALDI you truly get the best of both worlds. In my experience, they have quality products that are typically far cheaper than other stores.
Let’s start out with major tips for shopping at ALDI:
- Bring a quarter to be able to use a cart. They cost 25 cents here - don’t worry, you get your quarter back once you return your cart. Or be a doll and give your cart to someone else when you're done with it. What goes around comes around!
- Always look UP for the prices! Prices correlate with the item below the price tag. If you look below for the price tag you will be fooled.
- Bring your own reusable bags (you’ll be asked to buy them at the checkout if not) or take empty boxes from throughout the store to carry your items.
Now that you are an ALDI expert, let’s see what food will make your taste buds tingle and your wallet dance.
I ask one for one thing, and that is for you to not pass judgment on me for this one. I for real love the applesauce packages designed for kiddos. It’s such an easy grab-n-go way to throw fruit into my day.
ALDI can also hook you up with all of your fancy-schmancy natural sweeteners. For the cheap, you can make a delicious Easy Vegan Frappicuno by replacing the maple syrup with agave nectar!
With almond milk being a staple in my home, I’m glad I can snag a container here for under $2.
You’ve got not only one but TWO pasta options that are made with whole grains beyond wheat!
Coffee drinkers unite. Brew yourself up a cup o’ joe in the morning. While sipping your brew, sip nicely knowing your coffee is fair trade certified and far cheaper than anywhere else.
Go back to basics with frozen fruit to add to a smoothie, baked oatmeal, or pancakes! This Creamy Chocolate Blueberry Shake is my favorite.
Salmon truly is one of my favorite proteins out there. Have yourself a romantic dinner for one by having fancy salmon that's sustainably wild-caught in Alaska.
I just looked up if chocolate extract was a thing and it totally is. Either way, its rival vanilla extract can be found at ALDI for under $2 an ounce, which is very rare these days. It's a baking essential!
Did you hear that ringing noise? Oh. It was just these steel cut oats calling to remind me to make some delicious overnight oats! (Alexis buys the regular steel cut oats but I love these in a pinch.)
Until next time, folks! Now tell me - what're your ALDI staples of choice?

WOW!!! This article helpful for me about 9 Healthy MUST-HAVE Grocery Essentials from ALDI. I worried about healthy foods. Now my confusion has cleared by your review and gotten much information from your article. But I have a little question that, which foods are good for hair quickly grow and strong? Could you please suggest me? Then I will be benefited by your valuable consultancy.
Thanks Alexis and Keep it up……………………

Thanks for your valuable suggestion about healthy foods for hair.

All their organic produce, creamy havarti cheese, suaerkraut, organic eggs, naan, coconut oil, Himalayan pink sea salt among so many others. Aldi is my favorite! It can be difficult to find specific items, which just means a quick trip elsewhere.

Thanks for featuring my favorite foodstore ALDI. I live in the hometown of Wegman's, which is spreading across wealthier suburbs everywhere. Yeah, they're awesome if you have all the money in the world or incredible self-control - which they'll zap at every turn. I get fugued out in there - too big. ALDI I can storm through on my lunch break and get a ton of great food for half of what the big W would charge. It's an amazing place and oh, the kid's applesauce packs are great for when you only need enough for a muffin recipe. When I buy the big jar I forget about it and find a science project in my fridge six months later.

Good idea with the applesauce packets!

Their sprouted bread and the coconut oil! Along with the wild salmon, they also have sustainably caught tuna stakes 🙂 loving Aldi for my bank account!
Jeremy King says
OOoooOOooOOooh. I need my hands on some of those tuna steaks!

Love it- we definitely don't have Aldi in Canada (at least that I know of). I love seeing how much food costs in other countries - yours is way cheaper than our in Canada (that same almond milk is about 3.5-4 CAD). I enjoyed reading.
Jeremy King says
When I transferred the CAD into USD, it surprisingly equaled around the same price as other grocery stores in the area. ALDI just has a cheaper price than the normal $2.50-$3.00 USD almond milk container. typically found in Ohio! Thanks for the read, Petra!

Love ALDI and thanks for sharing some finds! I'm curious what your take is on their bread? I've been buying the SimplyNature
Knock Your Sprouts Off Sprouted 7 Grain Bread but curious what you think of the nutrition label? Sometimes breads are tricky to find a truly good one...
Kori says
I hope I'm not butting in, but I'm an RD, and I love their breads! The biggest thing in my opinion is to eat the kind you truly enjoy. Enjoyment is very important, just as much as nutrition. 🙂
lauren says
Absolutely not! I'm so glad to have anyone add to the conversation! I like the idea behind the sprouted breads, and ALDI's is the first one I've found that I enjoy both toasted and un-toasted (usually I feel like in order to enjoy the I have to toast it, but I wanted something that also worked for a quick sandwich) so I've been really enjoying this one! 🙂 Thanks Kori!
Jeremy King says
Hey Lauren! I can not agree more with Kori! I am a CARB KING and I love not only whole grain bread, but I love sourdough bread just as much. I have not tried the bread at ALDI but I definitely may try it now!

Jeremy, we’re like Aldi foodie twins!! I love & buy nearly all of those products! That coffee is life / we can’t get enough of their wild caught salmon / give me all the produce, / Itoo love applesauce packets (no shame!), / my husband uses their almond milk in his smoothies / given he has Celiac, Aldi GF products make shopping so much easier! ✌?
Jeremy King says
I am so darn glad I am not the only applesauce packet lover that is over 8 years of age. I seriously also just texted all of my friends with celiac disease to let them know so many readers are telling me ALDI is so GF friendly! I love it!
Kori says
We’ve been known to add jarred baby food to oatmeal, both sweet & savory, as well as smoothies. We like to be different with out food. ?
Olivia Atherton says
Oh, I love Aldi too!!!! I grew up going there with my mama weekly...it's so budget friendly and just the thing for a large family. My adult staples are; Almond milk, natural peanut butter, bananas, unsalted butter and ground turkey.
Jeremy King says
My Dad & Mom are TOTALLY the reason I am an ALDI expert today. As a kid, I remember searching for empty boxes to put our stuff in so I could help haul it in the car. You've also got some pretty great staples!
Olivia Atherton says
Haha!!!! I did too and I was always so embarrassed going back for boxes. (I was a shy one lol) toooo funny!

Jeremy King says
I was totally eyeing the cheese at ALDI when taking pics for this post. You are making me want to go back ASAP!
Kori says
Their white sharp cheddar aged one year is the best! Also, their holiday cheese selection is amazing.

I wish I could visit Aldi - haha, I know that seems so strange to say since it's just another grocery store for you guys in the US, but the range of products you have are so much better than what we have here in Hong Kong! Thanks for the peek into Aldi! 🙂
