I met Simi a few months after Alchemy opened and I instantly knew we’d be friends.
She’s the gal that walks in the door, orders coffee with cacao cashew mylk and perhaps a Banana Cacao Avocado acai bowl (hold the granola, sub almond butter) and immediately makes your day better just by being there. She will always be smiling. She will always ask you how you are doing.
And she will be wearing a) super cute sandals, b) a super cute top, or c) all of the above. Usually “c”. She is lovely in every sense of the word.
While her background is in law, she works primarily as a holistic health coach inspiring women near and far to love and appreciate their mind and body. She is the mender of bad relationships with food. She also writes a fabulous blog called The Micro Harvest!
When Simi told me that she and her friend Paige were creating a breakthrough series to help women learn to love themselves and ditch diets for good, I was SO on board. If you could have any breakfast in the world, what would it be?
If we are talking every-day-for-the-rest-of-life-breakfast, I am obsessed with Food for Life’s gluten free sprouted grain flax toast topped with Nutzo & a super strong iced coffee. If we are talking about an every-once-in-a-while-decadent-breakfast, then I am going with a big old stack of fluffy gluten free/dairy free chocolate chip pancakes topped with a little coconut oil, drizzle of real maple syrup & an endless mug of hot coffee (doesn’t it just seem like pancakes should always be enjoyed with hot coffee?).
What is the best part about your job?
It’s hard to pick the best part about my job because I seriously love it. I would say getting notes/emails/texts from clients about success they are experiencing (both physical & emotional) is my favorite highlight! I care about the women I work with so much, so it’s pretty awesome to get to celebrate them!
How would you describe Finally Free in 3 words?

What is your favorite lesson from Finally Free?
My favorite lesson from Finally Free is nourishment > punishment. Health, body confidence, weight loss, ending emotional/binge eating, etc (whatever it is that a woman desires to experience or has been trying to achieve through diets) are all so much easier and more fun to achieve when the motivating factor is love (not fear, self-hate, or judgment). So many women are in a war with their bodies, believing their bodies are the enemy that they have to conquer or fix. In Finally Free we teach you how to become best friends with your body, which allows you to shift from punishment mode to nourishment mode. Think about your best friend – isn’t it so easy to do nice things for her? Obvi, because you love her!! When you start to think about your body like a BFF, it is SO easy to take care of her the way she needs (no willpower required).
How has intuitive eating changed your life?
Intuitive eating has transformed so much in my life. I feel so good in my body because treating my body well is easy now! I don’t waste time, money or energy getting sucked into the latest fads, I no longer feel pressure to restrict before big events of vacations, I am so present in my life & able to show up authentically. I no longer use food to escape emotions or to comfort myself. I no longer freak my body out with calorie counting or extreme habits. I just LIVE my life and enjoy the foods that help me feel the way I want to feel. I eat foods I love, that love me back. It’s all about going back to the basics & understanding that we are each unique, we are the experts on ourselves, & our bodies know best (all we have to do is learn to listen to what they are asking for).
When you want to indulge, what’s your go-to treat?
Food-wise, I love to take myself out for a yummy meal that tastes awesome and makes me feel good. My current fave is the Banana Cacao Avocado acai bowl from Alchemy (sub nut butter for granola) & a coffee with cashew milk. I mean… my mouth started watering just thinking about it! Non food-wise, I totally indulge in 90s TV & movies. Nothing like a little Drive Me CrazyorClueless to treat the soul 😉
