    February 2018 Grocery Store Finds

    Published Feb 1, 2018 · Modified Apr 4, 2022 · by Alexis Joseph · 28 Comments

Hi hi hello! Natalie here. Long time no talk! Can we all just take a moment to recognize the fact that Alexis has been killing it with the recipes lately? There's nothing like chocolate peanut butter bites and shakshuka to add some pizazz to your usual food routine.

Honesty time. When I got back to school after Christmas break, I found myself in a major food rut. I wasn't excited about any of my meals and foods I normally like weren't satisfying anymore. Instead of forcing myself to eat what I had, I froze all the food I had left in my fridge and ran to the store to get some goods. This is curiosity over judgement, my friends.

I tend to be very hard on myself and would typically just make myself eat boring meals to save money and whatnot, but a wise friend reminded me that listening to the cues your body gives you is self care. So if your usual workouts or foods just aren't doing it for you anymore, try something new! No need to force yourself to do things you hate. This is about wellness and long-term health, so be gentle with yourself and find what you like.

Onto the VIP's of Lucky's Market!

Throw these veggie burgers on top of a salad, in a wrap, on a bun ....endless possibilities!

    IMG_1078

For those times when you just neeeeed a cookie. Break and bakes save lives, people!

    IMG_1069

Next to the insane acai, pao de quejio was my favorite thing to snack on when I was in Brazil over the summer. The small little nugs of delight are made of almond flour and the gooiest cheese. I adore the chewy, light texture and can't wait to break into this bag to see how they compare to the real deal!

    IMG_1052

Someone finally made the executive decision that chocolate is indeed a snack. I feel so understood.

    IMG_1087

Boil some water, empty the package, wait like 5 minutes and viola! You just made a gourmet dinner everyone will love. Winner winner ravioli dinner.

Hot chocolate isn’t complete without marshmallows and whipped cream! These are my all time favorite marshmallows and the whipped cream can be eaten by the spoonful to satisfy any sweet tooth. Speaking from personal experience on that one.

As I've journeyed to intuitive eating and let myself eat whatever I want, I've found myself gravitating toward more savory snacks. I was always a little obsessive about sugar, whether it was eating a lot of it or none at all. When I let go of that, I found that I didn't actually want sweets all the time. Savory snacks like cheese puffs have made their way into my life and I'm loving it.

Love you bye. (I always say that because of this article I found last year. If you haven’t read it, you’re in for a treat! Get ready to laugh in public while you read this on your phone.)

Good selection of products. I myself love hot chocolate. And without marshmallows, he was never good. Yes, it is delicious, but not full. And with marshmallows, it's just divine.

mmm, vanilla-y marshmallows?! even better than normal ones. I usually put a few on a sheet of tinfoil under the broiler in my oven (+chocolate sometimes for smores!), and they are so so yummy.
