    Quinoa (noun). /ˈKēn-ˌwä/. Keen-wah. Everybody say it with me now---quinoa!

    So today we're going to talk about avocados.

    Just kidding! Today we're going to talk about (you guessed it) the greatness of the grain that is keeeeenwaaa. And I promise that after I make you fall in love with this super-powered grain, you can feast your eyes on a few recipes that you'll likely want to add to the rotation ASAP.

    But no really, what even is quinoa? Half the world can barely pronounce it, so why would we put it in our bodies? Quinoa is a psuedo grain (meaning it's technically a seed) that's been used for thousands of years thanks to its stellar nutrition profile and nutty taste. It's a complete protein, which means it contains all nine essential amino acids. This is common in animal proteins but super rare in the plant world. Quinoa has more filling fiber than lots of other grains and also contains a plenty of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants to boot (think B vitamins, iron, manganese, vitamin E, and zinc). It doesn't have much of a taste, so it pretty much takes on the flavor of whatever you cook it with. Like pretty humbelievable, right?
