Sometimes I feel like my life literally revolves around food.
Maybe because it does. Like there's a big honking pile of cacao nib and maybe some hemp seeds in the center with my life dancing around it. LITERALLY.
All I think about is food. Breakfast was good, but what's for lunch? What's the newest menu item going to be at Alchemy? What recipes should I create for next month's blog posts? Food is everywhere and everything. And I like it that way!
Our philosophy at Alchemy is to make superfoods accessible, approachable, affordable, and of course delicious. We don't want kale and turmeric to be intimidating. We want customers to order the Green Monster smoothie with brown rice protein, turmeric, and ginger all on their own. We've seen regulars start with the Peanut Butter Power smoothie as is and slowly but surely start adding spinach, chia seeds, and matcha right before our eyes.
People are finally starting to understand the critical role that plant-based foods play in chronic disease prevention. And adding superfoods to your diet doesn't have to be an overwhelming process. My friends at elevAte recently came out with a new line of superfood salads that make healthy eating a breeze!
Iceberg lettuce with hard-boiled eggs and deli meat is a thing of the past...thank the lord. Lucky for us, ElevAte has created some truly spectacular ready-to-eat superfood salads that make healthy eating basically fool-proof. On nights when I don't have the time to cook lentils and chop kale, these salads are a godsend. Their motto is, "it's never been easier to eat clean and feel great." Amen!
This new line features eight salads that are jam-packed with nutrient-dense goodies like chia seeds, quinoa, wheat berries, matcha, cacao nibs, kale, goji berries, cashews, and lentils. I really respect and appreciate that they're non-GMO, gluten-free, and organic. Hallelujah!
They have a salad for every diet, too. The carnivore in your life (ahem, the boyf) can dig into the Kale Caesar with antibiotic-free chicken, lentils, and hemp seeds while I particularly enjoyed the plant-based salads. My favorite was the Go Go Goji (chopped kale, carrots and red cabbage with red adzuki beans, goji berries, cashews, broccoli, cauliflower, black sesame seeds, green tea matcha dressing) and the Power Grains (organic spring mix, carrots and red cabbage, raisins, almonds, wheat berries, quinoa, orange vinaigrette). I liked that these were meal salads packed with plant-based protein to really fill me up and power me through my day. These are no sissy salads!
In my humble opinion, the most creative salad creation was Blu-Rugula (arugula and baby greens, aronia berries, almonds, cacao nibs, sorghum and chia seeds, blueberry vinaigrette). I mean who wouldn't eat a salad with chocolate on it?! Dream. Oh and did I mention that each salad comes with a little fork? I can't even.
