    Clean-Eating Chocolate Dessert Recipes

As if I needed yet another excuse to eat chocolate.

    chocolate treats 2

Chocolate is part of my nightly routine.

It's like brushing my teeth. Or taking out my contacts. Or packing my lunch and eating half the muffin that was supposed to be for tomorrow.

I look so forward to that post-dinner, pre-bed hour where I can "relax" (and by relax I mean do my second job, AKA blogging) and nosh on something sweet. I'm a dark chocolate kind of gal. I always go for a cacao content of at least 70% in order to get the biggest antioxidant bang for my buck. I also do my best to purchaseΒ Fair Trade certified chocolate whenever possible. That's right---chocolate not only tastes good, but it can also make youΒ feel good!

This certificationΒ ensuresΒ that farmers receive a fair price for their chocolate and also strictly prohibits slave and child labor, among a slew of other benefits. Β Don't you just love when your favorite indulgences actually have ethical andΒ health benefits?! NoshΒ on some delish dark chocolate, kill some free radicals, support hard-working farmers, so on and so fourth. It's a win win!

With the big V day right around the corner, everyone and their brother is day dreaming of chocolatey treats. The good news is that there are some fabulous homemade goodies out there with clean ingredient lists that won't leave you with a total sugar crash. The healthier it is, the less guilty you feel when you eat the whole pan, right?

you da bestttttt! Thanks for including me πŸ™‚

In other news, C and I were going through our last month's spendings (we're saving for a big trip!) and as it turns out I spend an excessive amount on artisan chocolate and wine. Shocker. So basically this post is everything!
